Franklin County Retail Merchants Association, Inc.

Franklin County Retail Merchants Association, Inc. (FCRMA) provides services to businesses in Franklin County, VA.  We began on June 10, 1956, with 35 members as a hub for businesses in Rocky Mount, VA, and have grown to include all of Franklin County.  We are a member in good standing with the Virginia RMA.

Members have access to affordable group health insurance as a member benefit.  Through the strength of our organization members enjoy add-on benefits to a standard policy.  See our services page for more info.

FUND RAISER ANNOUNCED

FCRMA is having a raffle with 1st place prize of 46" Samsung LCD HDTV donated by Far Star Satellite Systems Inc, 2nd place prize of $100 savings bond donated by BB&T, and 3rd place prize of a Weed Eater string trimmer donated by Coast to Coast Small Engine.  The drawing for the prizes will be held during the Farmer Appreciation Day activities on 9/25/10.  See RMA members for tickets, which cost $1 each.  Tickets are also available at the FCRMA office at 392 Franklin Street, next door to the Post Office between 8:30 and 2:30.

2010 FARMERS APPRECIATION DAY

The RMA will hold the Farmers Appreciation Day on September 25, 2010, at the Farmers Market in downtown Rocky Mount.  Activities will start at 10 AM and conclude at 2 pm. 

Blacksmith demonstrations, horseshoe tournament, farm equipment, farm foods, tobacco auctioneering demonstration, ice cream, farm agency displays, FFA displays, raffle and prizes will be on hand for your enjoyment.

There is a $5 entry fee for the horseshoe tournament and participants are asked to preregister by calling 483-9211 between 8:30 and 2:30, M-F.

2010 Holiday Gift and Craft Show

The 2010 RMA Holiday Gift and Craft Show is planned for November 5 and 6, 2010 at the Senior Center on Tanyard Rd.  Friday hours will be 5 PM to 9 PM, Saturday hours will be from 9AM to 5 PM.  Call us at 540-483-9211 between 8:30 and 2:30 to reserve your space to display.

2010 Christmas Parade

The 2010 Christmas Parade will be held on December 5, 2010, starting at 3 PM.  The theme of the Chirstmas Parade will be announced later in the year.

2010 Fun Festival

The 2010 Fun Festival was held on June 21, 2010.  While tempatures were high, so was the enthusiasm of the attendees.  Dancing went on just like the participants were in an air conditioned building. 

Flat footing contestants kicked up their heels and had a good time.

When the time came to cool down volunteers provided a way to do that, too.

Plenty of children's games and activities provided a fun time for all.

FCRMA wishes to thank the volunteers, sponsors, dancers and band for all of their support.  Major sponsors were Sleepsafe Beds, Franklin News Post, Flowers Bakery, 619 Minute Market.  Also, Professional Therapies Inc provided several volunteers without which the Festival could not have happened.  The kitchen was manned by volunteers from Gladehill School Cafeteria.  Other volunteers were from Flowers By Jones and several family members of FCRMA.  Thanks to all.  Photos supplied by and used by permission of the Franklin News Post.
